Tom Vollert
Tom comes to DeWitt Animal Hospital with over 20 years’ veterinary experience both as a veterinary technician and practice administrator having started his veterinary career in Massachusetts. He pushed aside an engineering career to take on this crazy venture in veterinary medicine. He joined Dewitt Animal Hospital in March of 2025 and had spent his prior years managing veterinary practices in Massachusetts, Maine, Delaware, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia before heading back home to New England. Although the weather was great down south, he actually missed the snow. He has been active in the world of animals for most of his life and has been a volunteer in zoos for nearly twenty years as an educator, researcher and animal caretaker. Tom is also a published wildlife photographer/journalist, author and content contributor to Africa and Beyond Magazine and though his photographic resume consists mainly of African Wildlife he is now working on North American Wildlife and has published a book of his safari adventures. Tom shares his home with one kitty, Jane Goodall. Tom’s claim to fame is that the real Jane Goodall has a photo of Tom and his Jane Goodall.
